Well worth the price of Admission.A repackaging release with an updated track-list and bonus disc of remixes, this is a wonderful celebration of Lisa's return to music. To the larger audience Lisa is best known for her early 90"s hit single "All Around the World". Lisa was a celebrated soul singer who demonstrated early on her musical prowess as a vocalist and song writer. Being inspired by legendary soul artist Barry White, Lisa took her talent and crafted a lusciously layered sound combing the best of Motown, Philly Soul and contemporary Dance Elements to create her unique brand of Northern Soul.Now 25 years later Lisa has returned with an album that demonstrates her artistry and talent have only gotten better with age. Her current round of touring still showcase the girl from Rochdale with the big voice is still with us and better than ever. The album Seven is a wonderful blend of 70's soul mixed with modern R&B with subtle electronic nods. Now paired with a bonus disc of remixes this album steps into a new field.Bonus Song "There Goes My Heart", which finishes Seven, is a sweet nod to 70's Soul that slowly builds to a dance floor groove that will make the lover inside weep.The bonus remix disc:The disc opens with "Can't Dance" remixed by Cool Million. A blend of early 80's dance with R&B leanings. Second track is the Soul Talk remix of "So Be It". A deceptively clever reworking of this track. Evoking a subtle nod to the likes of 80"s R&B crooner Luther Vandross, "There Goes My Heart" is the third track with a return of Cool Million remixing this into a Disco Inspired dance floor filler. With the Andy Lewis remix of "Carry On" we are brought to the soul of 1960"s Motown. Track five is a funky interpreted remix of "Can't Dance" by long time collaborator Snowboy. The electronic dance beats Lisa has long been known for take their place in the next offering of "Picket Fence" remixed by Opolopo making even Kylie sick with jealousy over this golden disco moment. Snow Boy returns with a stripped down funk version of "Love Can" with a funky percussive beat paired with soaring string and horn arrangements this is certainly one for the lovers of the world. A re-working of the classic Lisa track "You Can't deny It" with added 24/7 was previously available on the deluxe version of Seven is a wonderful stripped down version showcasing Lisa's distinctive vocals playing with the notes. Cool Million returns with a soulful ballad version of "The Crown". Disco returns with "There Goes My Heart" remixed by the Heartful Dodger. Mainstream remixer Monto Blanco gives us his club ready banger of "Can't Dance". The dance party continues with a Cahill remix of "So Be It". Cool Million again returns with a dance floor version of "There Goes My Heart" evoking Soul Train line dances around the world. Classic Dance of the 80's return's with Cool Million's second interpretation of "Can't Dance". The album finishes out with Snowboy returning with yet another version of "Can't Dance".Overall a brilliant repackaging of a top notch album.
