There are many styles to Avashai Cohen, but this one, to me, fits into a similar category as Continuo and Into Darkness. The songs succeed at many levels: at the core a beautify melody, but delivered with (at times) mind boggling compositional sophistication and impeccable performance.The only thing I don't love about this album is the last 45 seconds of Halah -- the surprising appearance of that clarinet (?) I find terrible grating.
