This set of beads is used for praying the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows of Mary. It is of quality workmanship. There are eight medals each with an image of the Virgin Mary on one side and another image on the other side. The Crucifix is on the beginning medal. The act of Contrition is said on that medal. Then you skip to the medal at the branch which has an image of the Prophecy. The other six medals have an image for that particular sorrow. Pray the Our Father on the medals and the Hail Mary on the seven beads between the medals. Visionaries reported appearances by Mary who identified herself as Our Lady of the Word. Mary instructed one of the visionaries (Marie-Claire Mukangango) to spread devotion of the Seven Sorrows Rosary. According to the visionary she is quoted as saying:[6]“One must meditate on the Passion of Jesus, and on the deep sorrows of His Mother. One must recite the Rosary every day, and also the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows of Mary, to obtain the favour of repentance.”This is a wonderful devotion for all Catholics to pray as indicated above.I have given a number of these Rosaries/Chaplets as gifts and to help propagate this devotion to Our Mother Mary.Today is 4-11-2019 and I have been ordering these Rosaries for the years since my original review. Checking my order records my latest order shows that over those years I have ordered over 50 of these. I have made up a booklet that I print. I attach one of these Rosaries to a booklet and place them on the book shelves at the entrance to the church when I go to the weekend Mass. They usually have been taken when I check the shelves the next weekend. I do not include my name. The Rosary speaks for itself.Very well constructed.
